Committeeperson Steven Schain of 3-2 keeps Thanksgiving tradition of giving alive with 11th Annual Amherst Bowl

November 20, 2014 - Bala Cynwyd, PA - Years ago, Steven Schain and his firm, Schain Law Firm, created a father-son Thanksgiving football game hoping to fill empty morning hours and raise money for youth sport charities.

They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Celebrating its 11th year, the tournament, christened "The Amherst Bowl", has swollen to 200 players spanning 11 football fields and 22 teams playing 5 continuous football games in authentic AFC or NFC team jerseys.

Monies they raise are donated to youth sport charities, including: "Katie at the Bat" (http://www.katieatthebatteam.org/); "Adam Spandorfer Memorial Fund" (http://www.adamsfield.org/); and "Hope with Heart" (http://hopewithheart.com). In addition to monatary donations to these children's charities, used soccer gear is collected by "Heads Up Soccer" to transport and distribute to impoverished third world youth.
